The exterior doors have been changed. I need to paint the door frames this week while the weather is still warm. The doors themselves came painted white from the factory. If I change the color, it will probably have to wait until next year when the weather warms up again.
You can't imagine how excited I was to see this new doorway between the kitchen and the main bathroom. The bathroom window - when the bathroom door is open - will help to brighten the kitchen area. You can see the stud on the right for the wall that will divide the full bath from the half bath.
The tub was put in on Saturday. The surround had a crack in it so Lowe's will have to pick it up and bring out a replacement. Hopefully, it will happen on Monday because Ken is available to put it in Monday evening.
Still pondering color choices. Still pondering the kitchen sink. I'll probably use the sink if I can find someone to make the sink base. I have the name and phone number of an Amish carpenter who comes highly recommended. I will give him a call this week.
Kitchen colors! Benjamin Moore's Lavender Mist and Whisper Violet.
Stephen's choice of a bedroom color, for now. Another Benjamin Moore color. Forgot to check the name.
Benjamin Moore again -Pure Essence (minty green) for one of the bathrooms. Corn Silk (yellow) was supposed to be Corn Stalk (green). Even though I had it written down correctly in my notes, I misspoke myself at the store. The yellow is growing on me. I may use it in the laundry room. I went back and purchased the Corn Stalk (green) sample for Mercy's room.
The girls to the rescue again. I should have asked them to keep count of all the staples they pulled out of the floor boards!
Stephen taking down the satellite dish. We put it out by the road Saturday. It was gone when we got there today.
The weather was nice enough on Saturday for me to be able to wash the south and east sides of the house. All done!
Pest control company sprayed the crawl space for powder post beetles Friday morning. Don't believe the office staff when they tell you that stuff doesn't smell and it's okay to stay in the house. That stuff reeks! Even the technician who did the spraying said the office staff doesn't know what they are talking about. He advised me to let it dissipate awhile before I worked in the house.
I purchased lights for the first floor at Menard's light sale on Friday. I also ordered samples of Marmoleum Click flooring. I'm still not sure what to use. I saw a gorgeous wood floor today. I'm thinking it was Hickory. Decisions! Decisions!
Tomorrow a company will send a crew out to clean out all the cold and hot air ducts. Still waiting on my new windows!
