Praying God's Word for Your Husband by Kathi Lipp - Book Review

Praying God's Word for Your Husband by Kathi Lipp

“Prayer is weakness leaning on omnipotence.” W. S. Bowd  (p. 139)

Kathi understands our nature as wives when she explains:

“There are some deep hurts in marriage. But I do know this: as long as we are holding on to those wrongs like a balled-up tissue, we can never be truly free to hold out our hands in prayer on behalf of our husbands. This is brave stuff we’re talking about here--giving up the right to be angry and getting on our knees instead of getting even.” (p. 28)

I wish I would have had this book years and years ago. It is an inspiring resource.

Even though it is directed towards praying in depth for husbands, it can be applied to anyone we want to uphold in prayer: spouse, ourselves, children, grandchildren, parents, sisters, brothers, friends, and yes, even our enemies.

How can you possibly go wrong by reading God’s word, adapting it to those you are burdened for and praying God’s words back to Him?

Kathi quotes Richard Foster as she encourages us to pray: “In the same way that a small child cannot draw a bad picture so a child of God cannot offer a bad prayer.” (p. 191)

Kathi begins by telling us the most effective way to use Praying God's Word for Your Husband and then goes on to tell us how we can prepare our own hearts so that we are ready to become the prayer warriors God commands us to be.

Praying God's Word for Your Husband is an excellent resource and the inspiration that will spur you on to deeper, more meaningful, prayers.

Praying God's Word for Your Husband covers many areas of life: parenting, marriage relationships, others, God’s will, dreams and goals, worry, spirituality, health, money, stress, career, inferiority, and more.

Kathi also shares a prayer that Cindy McMenamin’s included in her book When a Woman Inspires Her Husband: Understanding and Affirming the Man in Your Life. Here is just a small portion of her meaningful prayer:

“Lord, the word encouragement literally means ‘to put courage into,’ and that’s what I want to do for my man when it comes to him pursuing and realizing the dreams You have placed in his heart.”

It is so easy to forget to be an encourager. This book will help you on that path.

I received a copy of Praying God's Word for Your Husband from Revell Baker Publishing.
